BLUE OYSTER CULT To Join MOE. On Stage At THE JAMMYS In New York City
October 1, 2002BLUE OYSTER CULT and MOE. will join forces on stage at the third annual Jammy Awards at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2002.
The Jammys honor "jam bands" — meaning those that excel at improvisation and experiment with the lengths and arrangements of their own songs and those they choose to cover. The granddaddies of all jam bands were the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND and the GRATEFUL DEAD, but other similar bands in this vein include PHISH and WIDESPREAD PANIC.
BLUE OYSTER CULT were invited by MOE. to join them on stage. Expect to hear the bands converge on immortal BOC classics "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" and "Godzilla", which MOE. have covered in the past.
The latest project from BLUE OYSTER CULT — vocalist/rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom, vocalist/lead guitarist Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, keyboardist/guitarist Allen Lanier, bass guitarist Danny Miranda and drummer Bobby Rondinelli — is the live DVD and CD A Long Day's Night. The CD was released on September 24th on CMC International Records and the DVD is coming on October 8th from Sanctuary Visual Entertainment. Both CMC International and Sanctuary Visual Entertainment are divisions of the Sanctuary Records Group.
